How To Pick The Right Color When Dying Your Natural Hair
Make Note Of Your Undertones
When trying to decide what colors might look best on you, you should first make note of your undertones. Undertones refer to the tint and tones of color in your skin. You can have warm undertones, neutral undertones, or cool undertones. You can tell which undertones you have a number of different ways but the easiest way is to check your veins. If your veins appear blue/purple under your skin, your undertones are cool. If they are blue/green, your undertones are neutral. And if your veins appear green/olive, you have warm undertones.
Once you know your undertones, you can start picking possible colors. Neutral undertones can normally get away with cool or warm colors. Cool undertones tend to go best with cooler colors like ash blonde, cool pastels, etc. Warm undertones tend to go well with warm reds, honey browns and blondes, etc.
Check The Health Of Your Hair

I actually JUST got my hair permanently colored for the first time a few days ago (5 to be exact). It is definitely an experience I need a little more time to process, but overall, the color is nice. A friend did it for me to celebrate my birthday in a few weeks. My concern is how do I keep it moisturized because it is a bit dry, as my natural hair already is. A while ago I tried your Protein conditioner and my scalp began to itch, thank God it was a small bottle, so I was able to finish it(in 3 washes). However, I won’t do that to myself again. So, any further tips on how to maintain this colored, course- textured hair of mine would be GREATLY Appreciated.
Yes, I am thinking about dyeing my natural hair. I decided to wait 1 year after the big chop, so April 2022 will be my colour month. I can’t wait. Haven’t decided on a colour yet….soon.

Just lightened my roots and did a fresh coat of color (deep, reddish purple). I use the Indulged DC to replenish some of the moisture lost, and the following week I switch over to Strengthen. I’m a big Miche fan and am having a much easier time maintaining moisture and detangling with ease since becoming a customer back in 2020. My color seems to last a lot longer, too!
